It’s time to get moving — and WIN! Join our May Steps Challenge running Monday, May 5th through Thursday, May 30th.
HOW TO ENTER:
- Track your steps daily on the tracking app of your choice (Google Fit, Fitbit, and Pacer Pedometer, Health)
- At the end of the month (On June 1st, as the contest goes through 5/31) send a screenshot to 323-649-8663 of your monthly average steps
- Shoot for at least 10,000 steps per day!

- Starting Saturday May 3rd there will be a third class added to Saturdays at 10 AM taught by Alec (this is a permanent addition)

MAY - RECIPE OF THE MONTH
CHICKEN & ASPARAGUS SALAD
As the weather warms up, we’re leaning into lighter meals that are still packed with protein and seasonal nutrients. Our May Recipe of the Month features grilled chicken and fresh spring asparagus—both perfect for this time of year. It’s refreshing, satisfying, and ideal for a quick lunch or post-workout dinner. This salad supports your goals without weighing you down. Give it a try and let us know what you think! (Makes 2 servings)

Ingredients:
- 8 oz organic grilled chicken breast, sliced
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into thirds
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cups mixed greens (like arugula, spinach, and baby romaine)
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 2 tablespoons feta cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
- Grill or pan-sear chicken breast until cooked through (about 5–6 minutes per side). Slice.
- Blanch asparagus: Boil water, add asparagus for 2 minutes, then immediately cool in ice water to keep crisp.
- In a large bowl, toss mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, and avocado.
- Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, season with salt and pepper, and toss gently.
- Top with sliced chicken and sprinkle feta if using. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy a fresh, filling, high-protein spring meal!
